The Soul of Communication Reflection

After reading the article, I learnt the importance of critical thinking and effective communication. I learnt that the lack of these 2 skills will result in miscommunication, which can cause the company a huge amount of financial loss. Such losses could be avoided if companies focused on critical thinking and effective communication trainings, which would prevent miscommunication in the workplace.

Critical thinking is also known as the force behind effective communication. Critical thinking allows us to organize our thoughts and put them together before we decide to relay the message to our colleagues and peers. As a result, critical thinking prevents vagueness and miscommunication in communication. Critical thinking also gives more credibility to our words as they are not spoken under influence of our emotions.

In my opinion, leaders in the workplace need to know the importance of critical thinking and set an example for their colleagues to follow. However, it is everyone’s responsibility to practice them in order for effective communication to take place.
